Question 1

What are the wettest and driest months in Casablanca?

Accepted Answer

December is the wettest month in Casablanca, while July and August are the driest, reflecting the city's classic Mediterranean rainfall pattern of wet winters and bone-dry summers.

In 2025, Casablanca received 558.1 mm (22.0 in) of rain across the full year, but it fell very unevenly. December was by far the wettest month with 213.2 mm (8.39 in) of precipitation, followed by March at 113.0 mm (4.45 in) and November at 105.5 mm (4.15 in). These three months alone accounted for about 77% of Casablanca's entire annual rainfall.

The summer was almost completely dry. Across the meteorological summer of 2025 (June 1 to August 31), the city recorded just 3.5 mm (0.14 in) of total rainfall, and August was the single driest month with 0.0 mm — effectively no measurable rain at all. The wider dry stretch from May through October produced only 12.9 mm combined.

This sharp seasonal split has practical implications for visitors. If you want reliably dry, sunny weather, the summer months are the safest bet in Casablanca, with August also delivering the most sunshine of the year at roughly 302 hours. If you prefer to avoid rain-disrupted days, steer clear of late autumn and winter, when most of the year's precipitation arrives in a handful of heavy spells. Spring is a transitional period in Casablanca, generally drying out steadily after the wetter conditions of March.

Question 2

What is the sunniest time of year in Casablanca?

Accepted Answer

The sunniest time of year in Casablanca is late summer and early autumn, with August 2025 leading the way at 302.2 hours of sunshine — about 9.7 hours per day.

Across the full 2025 calendar year, Casablanca recorded 2,734.8 total sunshine hours, averaging roughly 7.5 hours of sun per day. The three brightest months were all clustered from late spring through early autumn:

- **August 2025:** 302.2 hours (~9.7 hours/day), with a mild mean temperature of 24.0°C (75.2°F)
- **September 2025:** 283.7 hours (~9.5 hours/day), averaging 22.0°C (71.6°F)
- **May 2025:** 277.7 hours (~9.0 hours/day), averaging 19.6°C (67.3°F)

By contrast, the darkest stretch fell in midwinter, with December 2025 receiving just 161.1 hours of sunshine — only about 5.2 hours per day, roughly half the August total.

This pattern makes Casablanca especially appealing for a late-summer or early-autumn visit, when long, sunny days pair with comfortable, moderate temperatures rather than peak heat. Sun-seekers planning beach time, sightseeing, or outdoor dining will find August and September 2025 offered the most reliable daylight, while May provides a brighter, slightly cooler alternative in spring. If you prefer to avoid the cloudiest conditions, the short winter days of December are worth keeping in mind when scheduling your trip to Casablanca.

Question 3

What were the temperature extremes in Casablanca in 2025?

Accepted Answer

Casablanca swung between a peak high of 40.0°C (104.0°F) and a coldest low of 2.0°C (35.6°F) in 2025, a remarkably wide spread for a coastal city moderated by the Atlantic Ocean.

The hottest reading came during June 2025, when a heat surge pushed the temperature to 40.0°C (104.0°F) — likely driven by a "chergui" easterly wind carrying hot air from the interior. The coldest moment of the year occurred in January 2025, when the thermometer dipped to 2.0°C (35.6°F) on its chilliest night.

Looking at monthly averages, Casablanca's warmest month was August 2025 at a mean of 24.0°C (75.2°F), while December 2025 was the coolest at 13.7°C (56.7°F). That gives a gentle 10.3°C (18.5°F) gap between the warmest and coolest months. Across all of 2025, the annual mean temperature settled at a mild 18.7°C (65.6°F).

A few takeaways for planning a visit:

- **Mild overall:** Most of the year stays comfortable, with monthly means between 13°C and 24°C (55–75°F).
- **Brief heat spikes:** Occasional inland winds can briefly push highs above 35°C (95°F) in late spring and summer.
- **Cool winter nights:** Bring a light jacket for winter evenings, when lows can approach freezing.

These 2025 figures confirm that Casablanca enjoys a moderate Mediterranean-style climate, where genuine extremes are short-lived and the sea keeps day-to-day temperatures in check year-round.

Question 4

How humid is Casablanca throughout the year?

Accepted Answer

Casablanca is a consistently humid coastal city, averaging **77.1% relative humidity** across 2025, with levels staying high in every season thanks to its Atlantic location.

Humidity in Casablanca varied only modestly through 2025, ranging from a low of **70.6% in January** to a peak of **85.0% in October** — a spread of just 14.4 percentage points. The dampest stretch ran from autumn into early winter, when humidity sat at or above 80% for three straight months:

- **October 2025:** 85.0%
- **November 2025:** 80.1%
- **December 2025:** 81.2%

By meteorological season, autumn (September–November 2025) was the most humid period at an average of **81.6%**, followed by summer (June–August 2025) at 75.6% and spring (March–May 2025) at 74.6%. The drier winter start (January–February 2025) still averaged a moist 74.1%.

These conditions reflect Casablanca's maritime climate, where ocean air keeps moisture levels elevated year-round even as temperatures swing from a cool 13.7°C (56.7°F) average in December to a mild 24.0°C (75.2°F) in August. For visitors, the steady humidity means muggy mornings and frequent coastal mist are common, especially in autumn — light, breathable clothing is a good idea throughout the year. The most comfortable balance of warmth and slightly lower humidity in Casablanca tends to fall in late spring and early summer, when readings dip toward 73–74%.

Question 5

Which months are the windiest in Casablanca?

Accepted Answer

Casablanca is windiest in March, when average wind speeds peaked at 14.8 km/h (9.2 mph) in 2025, while October was the calmest month at just 8.5 km/h (5.3 mph). As an Atlantic coastal city, Casablanca sees steady but generally moderate breezes year-round rather than strong gales.

Across 2025, the average wind speed in Casablanca was 10.5 km/h (6.5 mph). The breeziest stretch came in late winter and early spring: after March's peak, December was the second windiest month at 12.1 km/h (7.5 mph), followed by January at 11.1 km/h (6.9 mph).

The calmest conditions settled in over autumn. September and October together averaged 8.7 km/h (5.4 mph), and even the summer months of June through August stayed gentle at an average of 9.6 km/h (5.9 mph). The gap between the windiest and calmest month was only 6.3 km/h, showing how consistent Casablanca's wind climate is.

For visitors, this means breezy beach days and reliable conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing are most likely in spring, especially around March. If you prefer calmer air for sightseeing, dining along the corniche, or relaxed coastal walks, the September-to-October window offers Casablanca's gentlest winds of the year, paired with still-warm temperatures.
